About Kathy

I believe that children are our future. My intention with creating joyohboy is to give parents the tools to help children live a more peaceful, balanced life.

Kathy grew up with six siblings in a house filled with love, gratitude, positive thinking and happiness. Inspired by this magical childhood she created a series of children’s books and meditations. Joyohboy was created to share not only her stories but others that will help children live a more peaceful life.

Kathy has over 20 years experience working with children, the arts and education. Most recently, she has become a certified children’s yoga & meditation instructor. She has designed and launched programs for children at the Rudolf Steiner School in NYC and the Connecticut Conservatory of the Arts in New Milford. A frequent guest commentator in print and on broadcast media, Kathy has been nationally recognized for her interactive community arts events. She is living in both New York City and Santa Fe, New Mexico, creating children’s workshops and writing a blog on how to raise spiritually savvy kids. Kathy has two peaceful children of her own, Kara and Kayle.

Kathy has always been ahead of the curve.  She was the hottest buyer for all the “B” stores in New York – Bloomingdale’s, Barney’s and Bendel’s. Kathy earned a degree in Marketing from Fashion Institute of Technology and recently graduated from the Masters program at St. John’s College. She has over 25 years of experience in marketing, public relations and communication for a wide variety of industries including retail, education, non-profit, the arts, and healthcare both traditional and alternative. Kathy has an undeniable ability to identify upcoming trends and sees social media as the future in marketing. She offers companies marketing and branding strategies on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube and LinkedIn. Strategies include ways of improving brand awareness, driving traffic to websites and engaging your audience. Her desire is to offer business owners the opportunity to share their message in a way that is effective, yet stylish, fun and lively. She is a frequent guest commentator on the use of social media on both TV and radio. Kathy is in love with dogs, obsessed with pop culture, a self proclaimed fashionista, and big on doing things with integrity and intention.
